Winter Park Golf Course

Riley Johns partnered with Keith Rhebb of Rhebb Golf Design to completely remodel the 9-hole Winter Park Golf Course and enhance both the property’s charm and aesthetic appeal. The key objective for the project was to ensure that the design was sympathetic in preserving the property as a dual-purpose community park and a public golf course.
Riley and Keith personally crafted and shaped greens, fairways, and bunkers (Blake Conant served as the bunker shaper), relocated tees, re-planted new Bermuda grasses on all the greens and fairways, and added an 18-hole community putting course to the property. Don Mahaffey of Greenscape Methods redesigned and installed the new, state-of-the-art, irrigation system in less than 2 months.
The team brought the project to fruition under the given 1.2M dollar budget and completed all the golf works in 90 days. Today the golf course is servicing close to 50,000 golf rounds per year and is a vibrant, proudly municipally owned and operated, golf course which continues to reinvest revenues back into its facilities.
